Lady Gaga has admitted that she finds watching the Olympics an emotional affair.

The global superstar updated her fans on Twitter with her thoughts on the Olympic Games, which are being held in the UK this summer.

She tweeted yesterday (July 31) that she "went through a whole pack of tissues" watching USA sports stars Gabrielle Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Aly Raisman, Kyla Ross and Jordyn Wieber, compete in the women's gymnastics event.

Gaga said: "The olympics is the best ever. but i went through a whole pack of tissues last night. watching hard working athletes achieve their dreams."

The 'Born This Way' singer later praised the team's ethic and togetherness, tweeting:

"Those girls are tearing the floor up for the USA! #Olympics. Woohoo! Gold for the ladies! just want to squeeze them! So much talent and beauty. Did u seem all holding hands? There's no "I" in team."
