Lady Gaga has updated her fans on Twitter for the first time in over a month with a photo of herself alongside Grace Jones and Phillip Treacy.

The singer has been absent on the social networking website for a number of weeks as she recovers from a hip operation.

Her silence has angered some fans who have been disappointed in the singer's lack of posting.

However, Gaga posted today (May 29) - over a month from her last tweet, which was uploaded on April 27.

She posted a link to a photo of herself with actress and singer Grace Jones and designer Phillip Treacy, along with the caption:

"New photo of Lady Gaga, Philip Treacy, & Grace Jones on the #littlemonsters @thebackplane community."
