Lady Gaga accused of breaking Russian immigration law

Lady Gaga could be investigated for allegedly breaching Russian immigration law.

The superstar singer performed in Saint Petersburg last year but it is claimed that she entered the country on a tourist visa, which would have prohibited her from working in the country.

Politician Vitaly Milonov has initiated action against Gaga and he has requested that the prosecutor general investigate the matter, who has issued the statement:

"The visas issued were of the basic cultural exchange sort, which does not grant their bearers the right to engage in any commercial activity."

Milonov meanwhile launched similar action against Madonna after she played in the country in support of new album 'MDNA', with both acts also coming under fire for allegedly promoting homosexuality to young people - an act which is illegal.

The Queen of Pop was the subject of a lawsuit regarding her apparent promotion of homosexuality, but it was eventually thrown out of court.
