Lady Gaga reveals excitement over 'Applause' radio play

Pop megastar Lady Gaga released her brand new single 'Applause' today (August 12) after it leaked online and has revealed that hearing the song on air was an amazing experience.

The track was due to be unveiled on August 19, but it hit the web illegally over the weekend and prompted her to share the mastered version ahead of schedule. Writing on her official Twitter page tonight, the hitmaker explained that it was overwhelming to hear 'Applause' being played on the radio:

"I'm on the radio, I can't believe it! It feels like the first time! Thank you so much for your *applause*, we are so happy you love it!"

She then joked that there might be a misheard lyric as the song was being censored: "I can't believe they're bleeping out koons, they think I'm saying the C word!"

Gaga added: "I love being a pop star! We are cheering for you monsters, standing ovation for the world's most amazing fans. I just heard it again, thank you!"
