Lady Gaga Muppets holiday special to air in the UK

An upcoming episode of the Muppets that features Lady Gaga is to be shown in the UK.

Channel 5 have snapped up the rights to the holiday special, which is set to be aired in Britain at Christmas.

The episode will be shown for Thanksgiving in the US on Thursday (November 28).

Channel 5 head of acquisitions Katie Keenan commented: "What a combination: world-class performer Lady Gaga together with the greatest family entertainers, the Muppets. This special will be a real treat for Channel 5 viewers this Christmas.”

Disney UK & Ireland executive director of media distribution Dayna Donaldson added: "This is set to be a high energy and truly unique musical show full of fun. We’re sure that Channel 5’s viewers will be hugely entertained by the unique pairing of Lady Gaga and the Muppets this Christmas."

Gaga is due to perform on the episode and it is set to also feature the likes of Sir Elton John and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

The singer meanwhile recently unveiled a life-size singing doll version of herself in Japan that produces audio when someone's head is placed on her chest.

It all comes in promotion of Gaga's latest album 'ARTPOP', which was released in early November.
