Lady Gaga says you don't have to be beautiful to be successful

Lady Gaga has told her fans that beauty doesn't relate to success.

The singer told Fashion that those who have created a legacy for themselves in science, for example, have done so through talent - not "supermodel" looks.

She said: "I want to remind everyone that people who win Nobel Peace Prizes and cure diseases are not supermodels.

"Your legacy does not need to be a perception of beauty that's not realistic."

The 'Applause' star meanwhile added that she would still be performing and wearing eccentric outfits even if she wasn't famous.

Gaga said: "There's this implication that if I wasn't so successful I would have to stop. But I never would have stopped. I would be in some bar; being Lady Gaga."
