Lana Del Rey on 'Freak' video: 'It was inspired by Claude Monet'

Hitmaker Lana Del Rey has revealed that she was influenced by the impressionist artwork by painter Claude Monet for her latest music video, 'Freak'.

During an interview with Billboard magazine, the songstress explained that she had specific points of inspiration that drove the production of the video: "The whole thing was inspired by a moving Monet.”

She went onto admit that creating the video was fun because her sister and other close friends were all involved in the shooting process: "We were shooting with a couple of special cameras and shooting everything in slow motion and taking a lot of time to colour it.”

Referring to the cameo from Father John Misty, Del Rey added: “I wanted Father John Misty to do something with me and he was nice enough to agree to be my leading man."
