Lana Del Rey: "I think my album is beautiful"

Lana Del Rey thinks her soon to be released album 'Born To Die' is "beautiful".

Speaking to the Telegraph, the enigmatic singer said that the "gorgeous" album - which is released at the end of January - represents herself in "song form". Speaking about 'Born To Die', she said:

"I think it's beautiful. I think it's gorgeous. This album is my self in song form. So if they sort of sound like everything fits perfectly together, it's because it does. There is nothing altered, nothing compromised, they are perfectly me. For better or worse, it's like a person in song and video form."

Del Rey also spoke of how she has been plugging away at record labels for years, only for them to think her music was too "creepy" or her visual package "verging on psychotic" - but radio play started to see a shift in her fortunes. She said:

"It's funny. I don't really have any gimmicks. I don't actually do anything that's strange. I don't even wear weird things. I have taken taking my music to labels for years, and everyone just thought it was creepy. They thought the images with the music were weird and verging on psychotic. And then, one day, its like people decided it wasn't actually too strange, it was actually too perfect. The fact that it could even be considered pop is a revelation to me. You know what changed? It got played on the radio."
