Lana Del Rey's 'Born To Die' is No.1 in the UK

Lana Del Rey has managed to cling on to her midweek No.1 in the UK albums chart with 'Born To Die'.

The hotly-anticipated record has been outselling all of its competition since being released last week and she has now officially entered at the top with her major label debut. Speaking to Radio 1's Reggie Yates about her expectations for the album, she explained:

"As soon as I finished the record in early December I was already happy. I knew it was perfect. I kept so much integrity with the lyrics and the melody and the production. I'm happy for everyone to hear it, if they hear it - I love it, personally."

When asked how she would react if she landed a UK No.1, Del Rey added: "It would be unusual. Very far from where I was a year ago. I got to make the record that i wanted without the pressure."

She has sold in excess of 117,000 copies over the past 7 days, which is more than the Top 5 combined.

Meanwhile, Leonard Cohen's 'Old Ideas' entered at No.2, Ed Sheeran's '+' is at 3, Adele's '21' has moved down a place to No.4 and Coldplay's 'Mylo Xyloto' rounds off the Top 5.
