Leona Lewis teases Christmas album: 'I'm doing classic songs with a Motown twist'

Songstress Leona Lewis has opened up about the Christmas album she is planning to release later this year and revealed that the tracks on it will have a "Motown" sound.

Speaking to London's Evening Standard newspaper, the 'Bleeding Love' superstar confessed that she has been discussing the festive project with music mogul Simon Cowell for some time now and they both feel that this year is the right one to go ahead with it:

"Simon is still very much involved in my career and helps me out. He came up with the Christmas album idea, and we both kind of felt it was the right time to go ahead with it."

When asked about the songs the record will feature, Lewis added: "I'm doing some classics with quite a Motown feel. There's also going to be a bit of original material in there."
