Oasis reunion rumours denied by Glastonbury organiser

After intense speculation it has been confirmed that Oasis will not be playing Glastonbury this year.

Liam Gallagher caused an online frenzy on Thursday (April 24) after he posted a series of tweets that spelt out ‘OASIS’.

The rumours of an Oasis reunion caused by Liam Gallagher’s cryptic messages forced British bookmaker Ladbroke’s to suspend betting on the band playing together at Glastonbury.

However it has now been confirmed that Liam and his brother Noel will not reforming their Britpop band for the Somerset music festival by organiser Emily Eavis.

Emily Eavis stated on Twitter yesterday (April 26): “Oasis aren’t playing this year”.

Eavis’ categorical statement was promoted by a tweet directed at her saying: “Please deny that Oasis are playing Glastonbury before tomorrow's ticket resale.”

Whilst fans continue to try and decode the meaning of Liam Gallagher’s tweets, Oasis guitarist Bonehead believes the Manchester singer was simply spurred on by a trip the pair took to the pub.
