Lily Allen believes she is mellowing out as she gets older - but that doesn't mean that she won't stop speaking her mind.

The singer broke onto the scene a number of years ago and her outspoken lyrics and honest nature caught attention.

However, she told Elle that as time has gone by, she has become more grateful for her life and has cooled down.

The mother of two said: "I have mellowed in some ways. Ten years ago, when I first started out, I had a lot to complain about.

"Whereas this time around, maybe because of the position I’m in in my private life, I feel more grateful for what I have. But that’s not going to stop me from saying what I think."

Allen meanwhile is due to release her new album 'Sheezus' on May 5.

It will be the first record the singer has released since 2009's 'It's Not Me, It's You'.
