Lily Allen feels "betrayed" by her own sex: 'People have their own agendas these days'

Lily Allen has admitted that she feels "betrayed" by other women who take digs at her.

The singer is well-known for her honest nature, but this has led some other females into biting back at her.

Speaking to Glamour magazine, the 'Sheezus' star said:

"I do feel betrayed by my sex…People have got their own agendas these days. It’s obvious when it’s about ego and them wanting to sound clever.

“It’s sad. Exhausting. Your own sex, in the name of feminism, hitting you back down. But I’m not gonna censor myself. I’m not gonna be beige."

Talking meanwhile about her return to the music after a number of years out of the game due to motherhood, Allen said:

"I was really worried about working and the pressure it was going to put us under, and it’s actually made [husband Sam Cooper] more protective and more loving and more caring.

“He’s there for me. It was a tough decision to make, a scary adjustment, and for the children. But my relationship with my husband is as strong as it’s ever been. It’s lovely to come home to."

Allen will release her new album 'Sheezus' in the UK on May 5.
