Lily Allen hits No.1 with comeback album 'Sheezus'

Pop songstress Lily Allen has entered the UK Top 40 albums chart this afternoon at No.1 with her new record, 'Sheezus'. 

She debuted on the chart at the top spot this afternoon (May 7) during the midweek update and is currently 12,000 copies ahead of her nearest competitor, which is Paolo Nutini with his latest offering 'Caustic Love' (No.2).

Gary Barlow's 'Since I Saw You Last' has shot up an incredible 35 positions to No.3 following this bank holiday weekend's screening of the BBC documentary 'When Corden Met Barlow', Black Stone Cherry have made an impressive appearance at No.4 with 'Magic Mountain', and Paloma Faith's 'A Perfect Contradiction' drops 1 place to finish off the Top 5. 

After a five-year absence, songstress Anastacia has returned to the UK albums chart with 'Resurrection' at No.8, Aloe Blacc's 'Lift Your Spirit' has climbed 18 places to No.11, and Meat Loaf's classic 'Bat Out Of Hell' has been propelled a staggering 131 places to No.16.
