Lily Allen's 'Sheezus' debuts at No. 1 on UK album chart

Lily Allen’s comeback album ‘Sheezus’ has gone straight to the top of UK chart.

‘Sheezus’ is the British singer’s follow-up to ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’ after going on hiatus in 2009.

‘Sheezus’ gives Lily Allen her second chart-topping LP as 2009's ‘It’s Not Me…’ was her first No. 1 album, whilst her debut record ‘Alright, Still’ peaked at No. 2 in 2006.

The ‘Hard Out Here’ singer sailed comfortably to the top spot as ‘Sheezus’ outsold it’s nearest competitor by 10,000 copies.

Surging 36 places up the chart to the No. 2 spot this week is Gary Barlow’s ‘Since I Saw You Last’ following the airing of BBC documentary ‘When Corden met Barlow’.

Last week’s No. 1 album from Paolo Nutini – ‘Caustic Love’ – now has now slipped to No. 3 after three consecutive weeks at the top.

Paloma Faith’s ‘A Perfect Contradiction’ is a non-mover at No. 4.

Finishing off the top five is a new-entry from Black Stone Cherry with ‘Magic Mountain’ debuting at No. 5.

New entries to the rest of the chart come from The Horrors with ‘Luminous’ at No. 6, Anastacia’s ‘Resurrection’ is at No. 9, ‘Supernova’ by Ray Lamontagne has reached No. 18, Michael Bolton’s ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’ is just behind at No. 19, Super Furry Animals’ Gruff Rhys’ fourth solo record ‘American Interior’ sits at No. 24 and the self-titled ‘Natalie Merchant’ is at No. 34.

Albums on the move in the top 40 include a re-appearance from Take That with the greteatest hits collection ‘Never Forget’ at No. 21, Lykke Li’s ‘I Never Learn’ jumps from No. 86 to 33, and this week’s biggest climber is Meat Loaf’s ‘Bat Out Of Hell’, flying 135 places upwards to land at No. 12.
