Lily Allen: 'I'm trying to grow up, finally'

Hitmaker Lily Allen has revealed that she stopped drinking alcohol a month ago in an effort to 'grow up'.

Speaking to Grazia magazine at the British Fashion Awards recently, the 'Air Balloon' songstress confessed that she has been trying to be more mature and responsible lately so decided to eliminate booze from her lifestyle:

"I'm sober tonight. In fact, I haven't had a drink for a month. It's been hard not drinking, but I'm trying to grow up. Finally."

The star, meanwhile, will be performing live this Friday on December 12 at London's Brixton Academy for a special Christmas concert and the best dressed gig-goer will win a prize according to the event's poster, which she shared via Twitter earlier today (December 9).

Allen also opened up about being asked to sing on the Band Aid 30 single earlier in November and described the event as nothing but a popularity contest: "I got an email asking me to do it. It's difficult to give an explanation why I didn't do it without sounding like a complete c**t. I prefer to do my charitable bit by donating actual money and not being lumped in with a bunch of people like that."
