Lily Allen has suffered a second miscarriage resulting in the loss of the baby she was carrying for six months. 

Allen's spokesman confirmed: "It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Lily Allen and Sam Cooper have lost their baby."

This is Allen's second miscarriage. The first child she lost was with Chemical Brothers' Ed Simons in January 2008. 

The miscarriage took place over the weekend, after the singer was admitted to hospital on Thursday (October 28) with stomach pains.
