Yorkshire’s Jake Returns to London

It’s been a busy few months for Halifax’s Jake Smallbones.  Just last April an 18 year old Jake was doing what comes naturally, playing his guitar and singing in a local bar, taking people’s breath away with his performance.  That night in April he was approached by someone who asked if he could introduce Jake to someone he knew.  That someone was Grammy nominated, award winning, multi-platinum selling Steve Christanthou (Corrine Bailey Rae, Newton Faulkner, Eliza Doolittle).

Jake went down to Steve’s studio and after about ten minutes of playing, Steve said to Jake ‘Let’s make some tunes’.  Pretty soon Jake was coming to the attention of Acoustic Magazine, who loved the rawness of Jake’s  combination of blues, folk and pop.  Pretty soon Acoustic Magazine were calling him “The Next Big Thing” and invited him to play at the London Acoustic Guitar Show at Olympia in September.

Jake is busy in the studio perfecting what will be his first release.  Jake is appearing live on the coveted Simon Leaderman Show on BBC Radio London on Tuesday, 8th October 2013.

To listen to Jake’s BBC Radio London session tune in from 10.00pm on Tuesday.
