After persevering for 18 months to have their music heard, and living through label and management changes, Derby’s rock trio LostAlone are finally ready to face the world.

Following their debut 'Say No To The World' in 2007, they plan to release a new album early next year via Graphite Records. To celebrate, the band will be playing a home town Christmas show on 22nd December 2011 at Derby’s Victoria Inn which sold out within hours.

LostAlone spent five weeks recording in Los Angeles during May 2010 with acclaimed producers, Jacknife Lee (Weezer, U2, REM, Bloc Party), Greg Wells (Mika, Deftones, Katy Perry) and executive producer Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance) after signing with Warner Bros/Sire Records in late 2009. Due to changes in personnel at the label, they were consequently released from their contract and given their album, enabling them to continue their journey alone.

30 Seconds to Mars, Enter Shikari, Paramore and My Chemical Romance have specifically requested LostAlone as their support band on arena tours across the UK and Europe. The band have also played numerous high-profile festival appearances including Taste of Chaos, Give it a Name, Download, Rock am Ring, Rock Im Park, T in the Park, Oxegen, Reading and Leeds. They were nominated for ‘Best British newcomer’ at the Kerrang! Awards and listed in ‘Bruce Dickson’s top 5 singles’ for BBC 6 Music.

Heavy D's autopsy results inconclusive, pending toxicology reports

The autopsy of rapper Heavy D has proven inconclusive and results from toxicology tests are now pending.

The 44-year-old star was found unconscious outside of his Beverly Hills home on November 8 and later died, but the conclusion of his autopsy, which took place yesterday (Monday, November 14), has been deferred pending the results of a toxicology report.

Ed Winter, the coroner's spokesman, told the press: "We need to see what's in his system."

Billboard.com reports that a funeral will take place for New-York born Heavy D on November 18 at the Grace Baptist Church of Mount Vernon, NY.

American Idol Kris Allen to Provide Music Supplies for Needy Classrooms

NEW YORK, Nov. 14, 2011 -- The Music Empowers Foundation and platinum recording artist and American Idol-winner Kris Allen today announced a new program to support music education programs in public schools. Mr. Allen and Music Empowers have partnered to provide a major grant to DonorsChoose.org, the national online charity that matches individual donors to project requests from teachers in public schools. The initiative hopes to benefit over 10,000 students by helping to provide music supplies to classroom music programs in high poverty areas across the country.

"We are thrilled with the tremendous support of Kris Allen and the Music Empowers Foundation in helping teachers acquire the music supplies their students need to thrive," says Charles Best, Founder and CEO of DonorsChoose.org. "Their commitment will expose thousands of students to music education who may not otherwise have the opportunity."

Funds provided by Music Empowers will be used specifically to match contributions made by individual donors to eligible classroom music projects, under a DonorsChoose.org program called "Double Your Impact."

"Once individual donations total 50% of a music project's cost, Music Empowers will fund the other 50%," explained Andy Davis, founder of Music Empowers Foundation. Kris Allen recently attended Nickelodeon's NickTeen HALO Awards on behalf of Music Empowers and DonorsChoose.org and voiced his support for the joint initiative. "I think DonorsChoose.org is an amazing resource for helping teachers to get the materials they need to do the best job for their students. I am really happy to partner with Music Empowers Foundation to support them and the music teachers and students who will benefit," said Mr. Allen.

In an effort to encourage people to visit the DonorsChoose.org website and contribute to one of the projects eligible for the Music Empowers Foundation matching funds, Kris Allen recorded a special public service announcement which now is airing on television. As revealed in the PSA, he also will be growing a mustache over the next four weeks as a further incentive for his fans to help out.

Dr. Conrad Murray: "The Holy Spirit came to me"

Dr. Conrad Murray is convinved that he is being "protected" by the Holy Spirit and detailed the recent spiritual encounter that caused him to believe this in a TV special called 'The Man Who Killed Michael Jackson'.

The brand new documentary, which was screened just four days after he was convicted for the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson, has revealed that the doctor's calm and stoic demeanor throughout the trial can be attributed to an unusual dream he had in July. Murray explains:

"As of July 15th, 2009, at 3am, things changed. The Holy Spirit came to me and I could feel the warmth, I can see his face, I can see his garments as he came down to touch me. He lifted me out of that hole of darkness. He brought me to light. He saved me. He protected me."

"He will put me and keep me safely in the secret chambers of his tabernacle."

The documentary was screened despite Jackson's family's protests to stop it from being shown. Watch part of the telling programme below:

Courtney Love stops gig and storms off stage after fan holds up photo of Kurt Cobain

Courtney Love was met with a shock over the weekend at a Hole concert after a fan in the audience held up a photo of her late husband Kurt Cobain.

The fan's actions at the show, which took place in São Paulo, Brazil on November 12, irritated Love so much that she stopped performing to address the situation while still on stage and told the offending gig-goer they were "stupid and rude" before storming off to cool down:

"I don't need to see a picture of Kurt, asshole, and I'm going to have you fucking removed if you keep throwing that up. I'm not Kurt, I have to live with his fucking... shit, his ghost, his kid everyday. You weren't fucking married to him, I was".

The 'Celebrity Skin' superstar also took a swipe at Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl, who used to be in Nirvana, and started a "the Foo Fighters are gay" chant. She then returned to face the crowd and added:

"I don't care who you listen to at home, but a guy (Dave Grohl) takes money off my kid's table? Fuck him."

TYCHO // Out Today: 'Dive' album on Ghostly Records (November 14)

While his formative years were spent listening to everything from Yes to Photek, Scott Hansen didn’t get his hands on an actual guitar or drum machine until he left his native Sacramento for San Francisco in 1995. “Encountering this whole new world at 20 years old was a profound experience,” says Hansen, better known by his musical pseudonym Tycho and as the graphic artist ISO50. “At the time, I was just learning the processes of design and music; both felt very similar, and have flowed back and forth for me ever since.”

As seamless as his two creative outlets have been, nearly a decade passed before the release of Hansen's first proper Tycho LP, ‘Sunrise Projector’ (originally released in 2004 on Gammaphone Records, later expanded and reissued under the title ‘Past Is Prologue’ on Merck Records, and ultimately reissued again by Ghostly). And while three striking singles have emerged since then, the sum of all those sepia-toned parts is nowhere near the double-exposed soundscapes of his new, forthcoming album ‘Dive’, set for release November 14, 2011 on Ghostly International.

Pitchfork premièred the first single, the sweeping & Balearic leaning 'Hours' via The Forkcast. The product of a prolonged break from IS050’s design work and blog, ‘Dive’ pays tribute to Tycho’s prismatic past (the dense, guitar-guided turning points of 'Daydream' and 'Adrift') but spends most of its time pointing to the project’s not-so-distant future.

That can mean any number of things, really, from the halcyon hooks and hopeful horizons of 'A Walk' to the expansive, wildly expressive tone poetry of the title track, an eight-minute epic that unfolds like a compressed concept album. Or at the very least, a restless vision of prog-rock—one that’s been coated in neon colours and filtered through a thick piece of blotter paper. And then there’s 'Elegy' a spare curtain closer that pairs a vulnerable crescendo with a fitting bridge to future works.

And with that, Dive establishes its position as the most diverse musical statement of Hansen’s multi-medium career; the point where his skills as a performer finally catch up with his vaporized vision of a world that doesn’t belong to any particular time or place. Additionally, he's upped the ante with the Tycho live show as well, having just finished a US tour with Little Dragon (UK dates to be confirmed soon).

“Nostalgia is a common thread in my work,” says Hansen, “but this album wasn’t driven by that idea. I see these songs as artefacts from a future which might have more in common with our past than our present.”

Max Cooper's EP is out now and is working on a new album for a 2012 release.

The facts are easy to establish: Max Cooper has more than 50 original releases, tracks and remixes under his belt, from glitchy reinterpretations of big bands like Hot Chip and Au Revoir Simone to straight dancefloor 12"s like his breakthrough ‘Serie’ originals and remixes for names like Agoria, Dominik Eulberg, Extrawelt, Pig and Dan, Kaiserdisco and Sasha.

The EP, ‘Amalgamations’ includes two remixes: a rework of cinematic electronic producer Hiatus’ ‘Third’ and a Get People remix, previously released as a download. There has always been a strong focus on the visual and this release will be no exception with a video commissioned and scheduled for ‘Third’ later this month. In the past, artists like Whiskas Fx and Nick Cobby have been commissioned to make videos for his music (see them here). Cooper’s fans also enthusiastically produce their own creations to accompany his work (a selection can be viewed here).

From his breakthrough trilogy of ‘Serie’ releases on Traum Schallplatten - the first released in 2009 and with each track inspired by a different scientific or mathematical concept - Cooper has built a reputation for one-off originals, killer remixes and challenging DJ and live sets.

The melancholy composer’s live sets can raise blisters in a club, but Cooper is as comfortable writing abstract electronica as he is writing dancefloor techno 12"s. He is a rationalist with an otherworldly, idealistic side; a wildly creative musician who until recently had a day job as a sober genetics researcher.

Recent performances include ones at Lightbox, Vauxhall, Alpha-Ville Festival, XOYO with Pantha Du Prince and Jon Hopkins,Picnik Electronik Festival, Montreal and Decibel Festival, Seattle. He headlined Electrowerkz last month with support from experimental electronic duo, Ghosting Season.

RAMMSTEIN Confirms North American Tour 2012

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 14, 2011 -- RAMMSTEIN, the Berlin-based band known for their incendiary live performances, will bring their brand new live production to North America this spring for 21 dates kicking off April 20th in Ft. Lauderdale. Tickets for the tour, promoted by Live Nation, will go on sale beginning Friday, November 18th and will be available at Ticketmaster.com, and LiveNation.com.

Demand for Rammstein's pyrotechnic-laden performances has been so great in Europe, where they regularly play capacity level soccer stadiums, the band spent nearly a full decade without setting foot on North American shores. In December 2010, the sextet returned to North America for two sold out shows including a performance at Madison Square Garden. Rammstein followed with a 9-day trek of major North American cities in spring 2011.

The Los Angeles Times described the live experience as "...epic stagecraft on a Wagnerian scale, several notches up from most arena rock."

The tour announcement comes on the heels of news of the band's first retrospective release, Made In Germany 1995 - 2011, which will be available in North America (through a distribution deal between Universal Germany and Vagrant Records) on December 13. Rammstein recently released "Mein Land," a new four-track digital single that features two new songs: the title track and "Vergiss uns Nicht" as well as remixes from BossHoss and Mogwai. The Amy Winehouse Foundation makes its first charitable donation

Mitch Winehouse has revealed that the newly launched Amy Winehouse Foundation has already made its first charitable donation.

The late singer's father took to his official Twitter page last night, November 13, to announce that the organisation, inspired by the tragic death of his daughter Amy back in July, has donated a significant amount of money to a very deserving cause:

"Tonight Amy's foundation gives it's first donation. Hopes and Dreams will receive a cheque for £10,000. Hopes and Dreams are a charity that helps terminally ill kids and their families. Great people."

"Amy feels good knowing she has helped Lots of kids tonight," he added.

Basement Jaxx: 'Our next album might be our last'

Dance duo Basement Jaxx have revealed that while they're ready to make another album, they are expecting it to be their final release.

The 'Oh My Gosh' stars have enjoyed a fruitful career since they burst onto the scene back in 1994, but are now thinking it might be time to bow out with one last record. Member Simon Ratcliffe explained to Digital Spy:

"We're ready to do another Basement Jaxx album. It might be the last one, but we'll probably work together still making music for films or an opera or something."

"We'll see. I mean, I'm definitely keen on continuing with film music. I released a solo EP this year, which was me being self-indulgent - that was really nice and rewarding. I'd like to continue with some more left field stuff."

Frankie Cocozza admits to using drugs before X Factor

Frankie Cocozza, who left X Factor during the week for breaking a "golden rule", has sat down with The Sun to discuss how his already wild lifestyle got out of control during his time on the TV show.

The golden rule that he broke was that he was doing drugs and it was discovered when he was caught by production staff on the show boasting about taking cocaine.

The now 18-year-old has admitted that he first tried drugs was when he was 16 years old but he explains that he's not an addict:

"I regret it so much. I'm really sorry. I'm not an addict — I'm an idiot"

He explains his guilt and regrets over the way he behaved:

"All I can say is I will regret this for the rest of my life. I was an idiot and it was just a stupid thing to do. It wasn't very role model-like. I feel bad about letting the fans down and I'd like to apologise to the people who voted for me. I'm really, really sorry. I also want to say sorry to my mentor Gary Barlow and all the people who work on the show. I feel so bad that Gary gave me this amazing opportunity and I basically screwed it up. I've only got myself to blame. I've learned how much of a mistake it was. It's just a shame it was the hard way".

On tonight's show (November 12), the public will get the chance to vote back in 2 Shoes, Amelia Lily, Jonjo Kerr or James Michael to take Cocozza's place as a finalist.
