Nick Grimshaw's Breakfast Show loses nearly 1m listeners

Nick Grimshaw's BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show listenership has decreased by over 900,000 listeners.

Data published by RAJAR reveal that the show has endured a sharp decline after long-standing DJ Chris Moyles quit the early slot last year.

Breakfast Show listener numbers for the first quarter of 2013 was an average of 5.8m, whilst the three months to December 2012 was 6.69m.

BBC Radio 1's overall reach in early 2013 meanwhile was down 7.88% year on year.

A BBC spokesperson told the Guardian that the figures were to be expected after such high-profile personnel changes. They said:

"When you put in a new schedule and target new listeners it takes time to build a new audience, both for Grimmy and the entire station. Ben [Cooper, controller of Radio 1 and 1Xtra] has got a two-year plan for the station, and this is the second quarter of it. It is the biggest set of changes to the station in a generation. We were expecting this kind of situation. Even though the audience is slightly smaller, our focus is on the younger demographic."

Former 'X Factor' finalist Rylan Clark has revealed that he once sent a naked snapshot of himself to Blue's Duncan James.

He revealed that he has a crush on the bisexual 'One Love' singer so shared an intimate picture with him, but isn't sure how the image was received despite getting a reply from James: "

"I'm too embarrassed to tell him [that I fancy him], although I did send him a naked picture of myself. He texted me saying it made his day. Whether he likes me in real life I don't know, I'm too shy to ask. Get it out there for me, "Sort it out, Dunc, take me out on a date." I don't know if he'll look at me - he could have any man he wanted."

Clark is currently in Jersey and told his Twitter followers that he is recording new music: "Arrived in Jersey to the wonderful Ray Hedges. Best producer in the world xxx"

It has also now been confirmed that he will present 'Big Brother's Bit on the Side' and he thanked his fans for their excitement at the news: "before i fall asleep.... THANK YOU to everyone whos phoned, text, tweeted etc about @bbuk so excited and can't wait to start. xxxxxxx"

Taylor Swift recently made a cameo appearance on the hit U.S. series 'New Girl', but a member of the show's cast has now called for another music superstar to join for a few episodes.

Lamorne Morris (pictured below), who plays the character of Winston, has admitted to Vulture that he's desperate for Rihanna to sign up for the programme and he wants her to play his love interest:

"I would like to see him in a relationship. Rihanna's trying to act now. Let's bring her on."

"She would [have to] play somebody. I wouldn't want her to play [the real] Rihanna, because Rihanna is probably a little wild for Winston. She would walk all over Winston."

Last year, Rihanna starred in the science fiction war movie 'Battleship' although her role as Petty Officer Cora 'Weps' Raikes only won her a Razzie Award for Worst Supporting Actress.

Macklemore discusses his gay anthem 'Same Love': 'It's a very personal song'

Rapper Macklemore has opened up about his track 'Same Love', which has come to be seen as something of a gay anthem since his album, 'The Heist', dropped.

The song was written about the important fight for marriage equality and acceptance of the gay community in general, but he revealed that it was penned with his gay uncles and gay godfather in mind:

"I was really nervous to play it for them. It's obviously a very personal song, and I didn't want to cross any boundaries in terms of their privacy. But we actually ended up taking a picture of them and using it as the cover art for the single. I wanted the art to reflect how personal the song was, and they are a big reason why I'm so passionate about the issue."

He explained that writing a song about a genuine issue, and especially one that's so close to his heart, is very important to him and he wanted to 'push the margins' with the track's content: "I'm always trying to push the margins. I wanna be an artist that writes songs that are different; I don't wanna write the same song that everyone else is writing."

"I wanna challenge myself, I wanna challenge society, and I wanna be the best version of myself, and the way I can do that is by expressing and talking about concepts that no-one else will, that people are afraid to address. I wanna be able to talk about those openly and honestly and figure myself out and help those who listen to the records figure them out."

When asked her opinion on Bieber's recent behaviour, the 'Call Me Maybe' beauty confessed that she is inspired by his work ethic and thinks he's a great role model:

"I think if anything I'm inspired by how hard he works, and I definitely want to add that to my own mantra as just like working really hard and doing my thing."

Beyoncé warned to lift photographer ban

'Halo' superstar Beyoncé has been advised to lift the ban prohibiting professional photographers from her current tour's concerts because it could damage her career in the long run.

The ban was imposed earlier this year after a series of unflattering shots from her Super Bowl halftime performance were published (shown left), and she has since denied photographers access to her shows on the Mrs. Carter tour.

Now, the National Press Photographers Association along with 19 other organisations are threatening to blacklist her if she doesn't cancel it. The NPPA supply many news outlets with professional images and a letter has been written to Beyoncé's team from the company, which explains the importance of revoking the restrictions.

NPAA general council Mickey Osterreicher wrote: "Ending the ban is more likely to result in publication of fair, objective and mutually beneficial photographs that serve your interests and ours."

He also explained how the media are more likely to seek out unflattering pictures of the songstress to use in their work because of the ban.

Zooey Deschanel praises "wonderful" and "talented" Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift's 'New Girl' cameo aired in the USA last night and the show's lead actress Zooey Deschanel revealed that it was a pleasure to work alongside the hitmaker for the season finale.

During an appearance on U.S. chat show 'Katie', Deschanel explained that it was fantastic to have Swift on the set and she was impressed by how professional, talented and "funny" the young singer was:

"I love her! She's so sweet, and really tall! She's surprisingly tall. I kept being like, 'Somebody bring me a pair of heels!' [because] I just looked like a shrimp! She is awesome and so funny. She's a wonderful person and so talented."

Before last night's broadcast (May 14), the 'I Knew You Were Trouble' beauty tweeted to tell her fans the episode she features in was about to be shown: "About to watch the New Girl season finale and I totally would be even if I wasn't in this episode. @NewGirlonFOX."

Earlier this month, Jake Johnson (who plays Nick Miller on the show) also praised Swift's acting ability and said: "She came in and is really nice. It's not an easy scene. There were probably 70 extras there, though I'm sure she performs to... much bigger (crowds) than that on a regular basis. She had, like, a little monologue and delivered it perfectly. (The producer) gave her alternative jokes and lines, she delivered them all perfectly. It was frustrating!"
