'Brave' songstress Sara Bareilles has admitted that the similarity between her own track and Katy Perry's 'Roar' has continued to bring her a lot of exposure so she is grateful for the publicity. 

Speaking to CBS Sunday Morning over the weekend, she confessed that while the songs do sound incredibly alike, there is no bad blood between herself and Perry at all:

"I can't say that I think that they don't sound similar. I've known Katy a really long time, and we're friends. It has been only really good for my song. So, thank you, Katy Perry, for that."

Back in September, shortly after 'Roar' was released, Bareilles told the press that she was happy about the situation because sales of her own single soared as a result of the obvious likeness: "I don't feel like anything was taken from me artistically. I wasn't the one having any problems with it. [...] I look at it as two female artists who are releasing a message of empowerment."
