British singer-songwriter Tom Odell has revealed that he recently had a terrifying incident in Australia during a concert after an enormous spider decided to interrupt his concert. 

Speaking to Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw at last night's BRITs concert, the star explained that he was about to perform a song when the spider started crawling across his piano and completely unnerved him:

"I've just got back from Australia. I went to sit at my piano at this festival and a spider that was the size of my hand started crawling across the keys. I was like, 'What the hell', I've never freaked out like that, and this guy came up and just picked it up and said, 'It's fine'."

Odell, meanwhile, has just been nominated for 2 BRIT Awards and will compete for the British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act prizes. This year's ceremony will be held at London's O2 on February 19.
