Ringo Starr confirms Paul McCartney duet will take place at tribute show and not Grammys

Ringo Starr has moved to dampen speculation that he will perform live with Sir Paul McCartney at this year's Grammys.

The two acts were recently confirmed to perform at the awards ceremony - which is taking place on Sunday (January 26) - as they pick up a lifetime achievement award on behalf of the Beatles.

It was unclear if the two Brits would be performing together - but Starr confirmed to Access Hollywood that the only duet they will be doing will be at a Beatles tribute show on Monday (January 27).

The Fab Four will be honoured then at the The Night That Changed America: A Grammys Salute to The Beatles event, which will see a host of stars pay tribute to the group.

Starr said: "To celebrate the 50 years since we landed in New York in February [1964], they are putting on a big show on Monday and we will be doing [a duet] there."

Starr and McCartney are the only surviving members of the Beatles and they last performed live together four years ago.
