Justin Bieber said he had smoked pot "all day" and was under the influence of anti-depressants when he was arrested.

The singer was taken in by police in the early hours of the morning (January 23) after driving down the Miami Beach area in Florida.

Bieber, and rapper Khalil Sharief, were arrested after being pulled over. The 19-year-old Canadian was arrested on suspicion of DUI and drag racing.

Police have now confirmed that Bieber said he 'had a beer, was under the influence of anti-depressants and had been smoking marijuana all day' when he was caught.

They have also confirmed that he resisted arrested without violence by having his hands in his pockets, with the singer also swearing. He also did not have a valid licence.

The police department have confirmed that the duo's arrest forms are being processed and that mugshots are due to be issued in due course.
