Petition to deport Justin Bieber attracts thousands of signatures

Organisation We The People has set up a petition that aims to get Canadian teen sensation Justin Bieber deported back to his home country of Canada following his arrest

It is aiming to get 100,000 signatures after the 'As Long As You Love Me' heartthrob was arrested on a DUI and for driving with an expired licence on Thursday (January 24) in Miami, and has already attracted 15,500 signatures in just 48 hours.

If the petition reaches 100,000 signatures, it will be legally eligible to go to Congress for further examination. The official statement that accompanies it reads: "We the people of the United States feel that we are being wrongly represented in the world of pop culture."

"We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing, Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked. He is not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence on our nation's youth. We the people would like to remove Justin Bieber from our society."

Bieber, meanwhile, took to his official Twitter page earlier today and made his first post since the incident: "YOU ARE ALL WORTHY NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAYS >> BE STRONG GOD IS WITH US ALL> MY BELIEBERS CHANGED MY LIFE> I WILL FOREVER BE GRATEFUL."
