Prince drops lawsuit against internet users

Prince has rescinded legal action he brought against internet users who had allegedly been spreading links to bootleg music.

As previously reported, the US icon sued 22 people to the tune of $22 million for proliferating links to unauthorised live material on websites such as Facebook and blogs.

The legal action stated: "The defendants in this case engage in massive infringement and bootlegging of Prince's material."

The singer came under fire from some fans for the move - but he has now dropped the case.

It has been dismissed "without prejudice", however, meaning that he can resume the action at later date.

Prince meanwhile recently confirmed that he will tour "in and around" London in February as he promotes the album 'Plectrumelectrum', which was recorded with his all-girl group 3rdEyeGirl.
