Louis Tomlinson Doncaster Rovers Reserves debut date confirmed

The date has been set for Louis Tomlinson's Doncaster Rovers Reserves debut.

The One Direction singer signed a non-contract deal with his local team last year in an effort to raise money for children's hospice Bluebell Wood.

It has now been confirmed that the 'Kiss You' man will turn out for the team's reserves side on February 26 at the Keepmoat Stadium.

He will play against Rotherham Reserves and money raised from ticket sales will go to the hospice.

Doncaster Rovers chief executive Gavin Baldwin commented:

“We are pleased to now have a date for Louis’ debut and are looking forward to seeing him against our South Yorkshire neighbours. We are expecting huge interest in this game with fans from all over the world set to visit the Keepmoat Stadium for this unique occasion. I’m sure Louis will be delighted to step on to the hallowed turf and officially become a Doncaster Rovers player for the first time.”

Tomlinson himself tweeted a link to the news, adding: "Ahhhh very nervous now ha."

Tickets will go on sale from February 4.

The match is a long time coming for Tomlinson, who pulled out of a scheduled game in September because of injury.
