US government to respond to Justin Bieber deportation petition

US Government is due to address a petition signed by thousands of people who want Justin Bieber deported from the country.

Over 240,000 people have signed an online petition for the 19-year-old Canadian to be banished from the States.

It has, of course, passed the 100,00 signature threshold and that now means the White House have to respond to the petition.

Speaking on Friday (January 31), a White House spokesperson said: "That process will occur, as is our commitment. There will be a response when the threshold is crossed. That response will come, I’m sure, relatively soon. I don’t have one now on matters related to visas. I would refer you to DHS."

The petition was launched after the singer, who is often based in Los Angeles, was arrested in Miami for driving and substance related charges.

It reads: "We the people of the United States feel that we are being wrongly represented in the world of pop culture," the petition reads. "We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing, Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked. He is not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence on our nation's youth. We the people would like to remove Justin Bieber from our society."

Bieber was also charged recently in Canada for allegedly assaulting a limo driver in Toronto.
