Colombian politician says Shakira promotes lesbianism and is a "danger to children"

A Colombian politician has suggested that Shakira and her newest music video is a "danger to children" as it promotes lesbianism and smoking.

The sultry star recently unleashed the promo clip for her Rihanna collaboration 'Can't Remember to Forget You', which sees the two singers frolicking in a bed and also smoking cigars.

This hasn't sat well with Public Option party councillor Marco Fidel Ramirez from Shakira's native Colombia, who believes the video is sending out all the wrong messages.

He has also started a petition for Colombia's national TV to ban the clip.

Ramierz said on Twitter: "Our Shakira with her erotic video is promoting tobacco usage and has become the worst example for our youth."

He added: "Shakira's new video is a shameless case for lesbianism and immorality. It is a danger to children. It sends a provocative message to weak people who can be polluted and induced to practice [lesbianism]."
