PETA slams Lily Allen's 'Air Balloon' music video

'Smile' beauty Lily Allen is the latest music star to come under fire from animal rights organisation PETA after releasing her new music video for 'Air Balloon'

In the cut, the songstress can be seen riding a zebra and dancing around with other animals, but this has angered the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals causing a spokesperson to hit out at the video for being cruel.

A spokesperson for PETA issued a statement on the matter and told the Daily Star newspaper:

"Zebras aren't props or transportation. When the director yelled 'cut' Lily could go home, but that zebra will probably spend his life being hired out for humans' financial gain."

Last autumn, Katy Perry was slammed by PETA for her 'Roar' music video and the organisation told the press that the way animals are treated on sets of such productions is so bad that it's not worth featuring them at all: "Animals used for entertainment... endure horrific cruelty and suffer from extreme confinement and violent training methods. They often become stressed and anxious when hauled around and forced into unfamiliar or frightening situations."
