Kaiser Chiefs accused of stealing logo from bike company: 'They're Kaiser Thiefs'

'I Predict A Riot' hitmakers Kaiser Chiefs have been dubbed 'Kaiser Thiefs' by bicycle parts company, Sturmey-Archer, after it was pointed out they had copied the company's logo.

The band, who will release their new album 'Education, Education, Education & War' in March, boast a yellow cover for the record with a design encompassing their name (pictured below) that looks very similar to the company's logo.

Alan Clarke, Sturmey-Archer's manager, issued a statement that explained the logo isn't one that is up for grabs by anyone: "I have worked for the company for more than 40 years and I have never known anything quite as blatant as this. We are used to this sort of thing from backstreet suppliers but did not expect it from such a big band. They did not even contact us up front and they have not responded to questions posed since we were alerted by customers."

Kaiser Chiefs have now issued a statement in reply, which reads: "The lyrics of our new album 'Education, Education, Education & War' look into Britain's past and our designer has deliberately created artwork that references Britain's Heritage. We hoped to pay homage to the legacy of Sturmey-Archer and by using this design we did not expect, nor did we intend to upset them."
