James Corden feels sorry for Harry Styles: 'His life must sometimes feel like a prison'

James Corden has revealed his sympathy for Harry Styles and the effects of fame.

The British actor is friends with the One Direction man and outings in public with the singer have ended up in trails of paparazzi and fans of the boyband.

Corden has now told Fabulous magazine of his support for Styles in the wake of global attention.

He recalled an incident where fans bombarded their hotel in the US, with the former BRIT Awards host saying:

"I can't imagine what their life must feel like day to day. I was in New York with Harry and no one knew he was staying at the hotel we were in. But then one person Tweeted that they'd seen him in the corridor and by the time we got back there were like, 700 girls there. I don't know how that can be in his head."

Corden added that the One Direction lads' lives must "sometimes feel like a prison" - but he praised the quintet for keeping down to earth. He said:

"They're unbelievably together despite the way their lives have changed. That's the best thing I can say about them - they're the same. Just with better clothes and nicer cars."
