Pet Shop Boys unveil gay rights song

Pet Shop Boys have released a new song about the issue of gay rights.

The British duo took inspiration from a recent speech given by Irish drag queen Panti Bliss at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin.

The tune is called 'Oppressive (The Best Gay Possible) and it clocks in around ten minutes long.

Bliss - real name Rory O'Neill - took to Twitter to write: "So, eh, PET SHOP BOYS @petshopboys made an amazing track out of my Noble Call speech. Seriously. They did."

Pet Shop Boys meanwhile are set to tour America from April 8 onwards, with dates scheduled for the massive Coachella Festival.
