Harry Styles' father defends his career choice: 'Just because he does fun work doesn't mean it's easy'

Des Styles, the father of One Direction heartthrob Harry, has taken to his official Twitter page to defend his son after people criticised him for saying the 'Story Of My Life' star was looking forward to getting back to 'work'.

On March 11, Des tweeted: "Back home, knew that as saw a man going through Adswood rolling drunk at 3pm! Just spoke to H. He's had a long break and ready for work. X"

Following a wave of sarcastic replies, he returned to the social networking site late last night (March 13) and told his followers that Harry works incredibly hard and just because he's in a pop band it doesn't mean that he has an easy ride: "Loads asking why I'm saying H is going back to 'work'? Agreed its lovely 'work' but still hard work? They don't just turn up and sing? X"

Earlier this week, the singer told his own 19.8 million followers that he can't wait to start rehearsals for One Direction's upcoming new tour: "Alrighty then...Back to work. Can't wait to get into rehearsals back on the road."
