Nick Grimshaw "shrugs off" abuse from One Direction fans

Nick Grimshaw has revealed that he tries to "shrug off" online hate from One Direction fans.

The BBC Radio 1 DJ suffered abuse at the hands of Directioners recently when a producer on his Breakfast Show called Louis Tomlinson "annoying".

Grimshaw later had to ask dissenters to stop sending him homophobic death threats on Twitter.

Speaking to Digital Spy, the DJ - who is good friends with Harry Styles - said that he has learned to ignore hate.

When asked if the acerbic Twitter comments continued, he said: "Not really, just that one week where I got a torrent of abuse. Yeah, pretty much [a week]. I just shrug it off, it's not something to worry about."

Grimshaw meanwhile recently completed a twelve hour exercise bike marathon for the charity Sport Relief.
