Ricky Wilson: 'Previous winners of 'The Voice' didn't put in the hard work needed to make it'

'The Voice' judge Ricky Wilson has revealed that previous winners of the vocal talent show haven't gone on to enjoy successful careers because they haven't put in enough effort.

Speaking to the Radio Times about being part of the programme and what it means to be a contestant, Wilson confessed that he doesn't think Andrea Begley or Leanne Mitchell worked hard enough to ensure they were successful once they left 'The Voice':

"They didn't see it through. That sounds harsh, but it's not like you go straight to number one when you get a record deal. That's where the hard work starts."

The 'I Predict A Riot' star also confessed that his new look wasn't motivated by his panel position on the show, and that it was purely coincidental that he had been getting in shape when the opportunity was offered to him:

“Everyone’s saying ‘You lost all that weight and had your teeth done for TV’, but I only got the job on The Voice two weeks before we started filming. If I’d done all that in a fortnight, people would want the number of my clinic!"
