'Losing You' songstress Solange Knowles has credited her son, Daniel 'Julez' (9), with helping her to grow as a person because being a mother means going on such a huge journey. 

She told E! News that giving birth and raising a child has quite literally changed every aspect of her life for the better and she feels as though she has "evolved" hugely over the years:

"Motherhood is such an evolving journey. You really have to shape and mold your morals and values around that personality that has come into itself."

"Seeing that conviction and honesty with everything he does absolutely has made me a better person."

On April 11, Knowles will perform live in California at the Empire Polo Club and she will also sing at the New Orleans Jazz Festival later this month.
