5 Seconds Of Summer heartthrobs: 'We make mixtapes for girls we have crushes on'

The members of Australian band 5 Seconds Of Summer recently opened up to Pop Crush about romance and confessed that they've made mixtapes for girls they have fancied in the past.

Speaking about ways they've tried to get girls' attention before, the heartthrobs admitted that compiling a mix of songs with meaningful lyrics is right up there because it's something that tends to get a good reaction.

Drummer Ashton Irwin explained: I think that’s one of the most important things to me, a girl’s music tastes. Yeah, I have (made a mixtape). It would have been like year eight, so I was into really like… there would have been a bit of Green Day, there would have been some Mayday Parade. I think think even some ‘Hey There Delilah'."

Guitarist Michael Clifford added that he remembers making one girl a mixtape, which he had put a lot of thought into, and was disappointed when she didn't enjoy the thoughtful gift: "I think I put a lot of the songs that I liked and I’m pretty sure she didn’t like any of them. Mine, I was like year six or year five or something. I think mine had Eminem. Pretty sure it had Delta Goodrem. Do you know who Delta Goodrem is?"

Earlier this week, meanwhile, Irwin told his fans on Twitter that he was overwhelmed to learn his band's new single, 'She Looks So Perfect', charted at No.2 in the USA on the Billboard chart: "You guys made SLSP number 2 in the official billboard charts in the US, I love you guys so much, I can't possibly thank you enough, wow x."
