'Beyoncé inspires people to talk about feminism' says Nigerian novelist

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, a Nigerian novelist, has revealed to Britain's The Times magazine that she thinks Beyoncé is great because she has made feminism trendy again

Her TED Talk about women being expected to want to get married was sampled on the superstar's track 'Flawless' and she explained to the newspaper that Beyoncé is able to influence such a huge amount of people because of her fanbase, which is great because she stands for such great values:

"Because of Beyoncé many young women are talking about feminism and hopefully young men because she has such a following."

She added: "Well, I suppose there are different feminisms. I am all about bringing people to the party and having a good conversation, rather than saying you can't come in. I have had young people in Nigeria who probably would have never heard of my TED talk without Beyoncé and who are now talking about feminism."
