'Money On My Mind' hitmaker Sam Smith has revealed that he recently met Katy Perry at America's star-studded Coachella Festival in California and was surprised at how normal she seemed considering her level of global fame. 

Speaking to Britain's Daily Star newspaper about meeting the 'Teenage Dream' beauty, he explained that she was very down to earth and "friendly":

"Katy’s incredibly friendly and lovely. People think these big stars are going to be divas, but once I got over being starstruck they are just normal people who like to be treated normally. And she’s fun."

Smith, meanwhile, recently confirmed that he will be heading out around the UK on tour later this autumn and the first date will take place on October 23 in Glasgow. Tickets for the jaunt are on sale now and he will also visit other cities including Leeds and Birmingham. 

His upcoming new studio album, entitled 'In The Lonely Hour', will be released on May 26.
