Australian pop-rock band 5 Seconds Of Summer have revealed that while they were supporting heartthrobs One Direction on their tour, they had a food fight backstage.

During a new interview with 98.7 AMP, the lads were asked a series of fan-submitted questions and one of their followers wanted to know what the 'funniest thing' that happened while they were on tour with One Direction was. 

The lads all joined in and confessed that a fruit fight happened backstage on one of the dates, which was really entertaining and quite messy: "This one time we threw fruit around the room... that was pretty great. It doesn't sound that funny, but it was. I thought it was pretty great. Us and some of the 1D guys we just had, like, a big bowl of fruit and threw it around the room."

Earlier this week, 5 Seconds Of Summer's Calum Hood confessed that if the opportunity to write with One Direction came about, he would jump at the chance to collaborate with them: "They're writing a lot more which is amazing. If anything, it'll probably be a spontaneous decision between us, but I'd love to."
