Calum Hood, of 5 Seconds Of Summer fame, has revealed that during the last One Direction tour he had an on-stage accident that saw him split his trousers in a really unfortunate place.

The heartthrob told USA Today that there have been several embarrassing moments while they've been on tour to date, but the incidents are nothing they can't get past:

"I actually split my pants from my crotch to my knee, so I had to go backstage while the stage was dark and duct-tape my leg, but still be playing at the same time. That was kind of hard to do and it was pretty embarrassing, but I just had to announce it to the crowd to make it less embarrassing."

Member Ashton Irwin also opened up about being labelled a boyband despite playing their own instruments and writing their own songs, adding that it's inevitable because they're four guys performing music together:

"We didn't really realise we were a boy band until people started calling us a boy band. I understand and we don't care what people call us, as long as we're making the music we love."
