Current 'American Idol' finalists praise Adam Lambert: 'He really carved his own path after the show'

The current 'American Idol' Top 6 have spoken out about their favourite acts to have been featured on the programme over the years and hitmaker Adam Lambert was the most popular between them.

At the moment, finalists include Caleb Johnson, Alex Preston, Sam Woolf, Jessica Meuse, CJ Harris, and Jena Irene, and they all opened up about who they loved to watch on the show's previous seasons.

Rocker Caleb Johnson named vocal powerhouse Lambert as one of his all-time favourite contestants and explained that he was so inspired by watching him perform on the show a few years ago:

“I loved the stuff with Chris Daughtry. I remember watching that as a kid, and also Adam Lambert. I mean Adam Lambert just kind of just blew the roof off the show and just kind of and just really carved his own path, you know, from the show and what not and he was just an incredible singer, performer. I mean that’s a rock star right there, both him and Chris Daughtry are two of the biggest stars to come off this show.”

Alex Preston also named the 'Trespassing' superstar as his favourite 'Idol' alum, adding: "I was always into Adam Lambert. Me and my parents used to watch it all the time religiously and we always loved Adam Lambert.”

Other former 'American Idol' singers that were mentioned include country-pop crossover sensation Kelly Clarkson, 'Two Black Cadillacs' beauty Carrie Underwood, and 'Home' singer Phillip Phillips.

Earlier this year, Lambert returned to 'American Idol' as a mentor along with Chris Daughtry and together they gave advice to aspiring singers who are taking part in the televised talent contest.
