The Libertines hint at intimate warm-up gigs

After announcing they will be playing a rare reunion show this summer, The Libertines are now hoping to fit in some small scale rehearsal gigs before their headlining slot at Hyde Park in July.

Pete Doherty told NME: “There'll be a warm-up, and there might be a free one for people who can't get into Hyde Park, maybe.”

The ‘Time For Heroes’ quartet played two shows at The Forum in London ahead of their reunion slots at the Reading and Leeds festivals in 2010.

Carl Barat said: “We did mention it would be nice to do a warm-up. I’m sure the people who look at that stuff are fully clued up enough to leave the options open. It'd be cool to do somewhere of a similar size to The Forum, somewhere where the audience is likely to be one that’s really into it and potentially starved of it perhaps. Not giving away too many clues there…”

It was confirmed yesterday (April 25) that the British guitar group will be reforming to play their first gig together in four years at London’s Hyde Park on July 5.
