Lorde shares photo of 'stalker': 'I refuse to stay passive about men subjecting me to extreme fear'

New Zealand-based songstress Lorde has revealed that a photographer has been invading her privacy and intimidating her to the point where she feels "extreme fear" if she sees him around.

Writing on her official Twitter page this morning (May 4), the 'Royals' songstress explained that his presence makes her incredibly uneasy and she's sick of being followed by him:

"This man has been stalking me, photographing me and refusing me privacy. I am scared of him. he frequents central AKL. His name is Simon Runting. He took these photos of Rihanna at her hotel last year."

Lorde went on to add that as a young woman in the music industry, it all makes her feel so uncomfortable: "This should not be an accepted standard for young women or anyone in this industry. I refuse to stay complicit and I refuse to stay passive about men systematically subjecting me to extreme fear. I understand that this comes with the territory. I do not understand why I should be complacent."
