Ella Henderson: 'I have a cutthroat attitude to my music career'

Former 'X Factor' finalist Ella Henderson has revealed that she won't be pushed around in the music industry and knows how and when to stand her ground.

Speaking exclusively to Wonderland magazine, the rising star explained that she didn't want to bring out a record that sounded stale so stuck to her guns and worked on something she genuinely wanted to be involved with: "I don’t wanna copy anyone, I didn’t want to do a retro record. I wanted to do something new, and fresh."

"In the beginning I was open to anything, but you figure out what your sound is, and when you go into sessions there’s certain things you have to be open, and honest on. When it comes to my music, when it’s your job, you can be cutthroat about things."

Speaking about her new song 'Ghost', Henderson added that because it was co-written by OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder it has a really huge sound: "I wanted to make this big record and have it played worldwide, and he knows a special formula to write songs like that."
