Stars react to Conchita Wurst's Eurovision triumph

Celebrities have been giving their verdict on last night’s Austrian Eurovision winner.

Conchita Wurst was crowned 2014’s winner with 290 points last night (10 May) at the ceremony in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Speaking about the ‘Rise Like A Phoenix’ singer, BBC Radio One DJ Jameela Jamil tweeted: “I have nothing but love for Conchita.”

X Factor contestant Rylan Clark joked that Conchita looks like a cross between himself and his mentor Nicole Scherzinger.

The TV personality tweeted a picture of himself, Conchita and Scherzinger with the caption “Happy Family” and a good luck message: “Mummy and daddy love you @ConchitaWurst were [sic] very proud and cheering you on all the way”.

Rylan’s not the only one who thinks he resembles Conchita Wurst. Comedian Russell Brand shared images online last night of himself in a dress and told his Twitter followers: “I don't normally endorse voting but please vote for me on #Eurovision tonight. #Austria.”

Culture Club’s Boy George commented on the implications of the voting process as the Eurovision scores were revealed. He posted on Twitter: “You can tell the gay friendly and the unfriendly votes! @ConchitaWurst to win!”

Now back in Austria, Ms Wurst tweeted: "i'm home <3 i don't know what to say.... THANK YOU!!!!!"
