Britain's Eurovision 2014 singer Molly Smitten-Downes: 'My biggest dream is play Glastonbury'

Molly Smitten-Downes, the 27-year-old who represented Great Britain at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest, has revealed that performing at Glastonbury Festival is her ultimate dream goal.

She entered Eurovision with a song called 'Children Of The Universe', but finished in 17th place after scoring a measly 40 points overall. Speaking to Digital Spy, she explained that she wants to move onto bigger and better things:

"My biggest dream is to play Glastonbury. I've not made any secret about that fact. That is my favourite place in the world. I honestly think life should be one big festival. We should all live like that... That makes me feel like I'm actually at a festival. I'd love to play the festival scene - that's where I feel most at home."

Speaking about her failed Eurovision attempt, Smitten-Downes went onto add that she feels brave for having represented the country and wishes it wasn't looked at as such a negative and 'novelty' thing to do:

“I think people are scared of Eurovision and it has connotations of being novelty, and I knew that it would be a brave decision. I knew that, with regards to music festivals, doing Eurovision probably wouldn't help. I'm hoping the music speaks for itself.”
