Miranda Lambert: 'It's important to take a minute and breathe - to switch off from technology'

Country superstar Miranda Lambert has revealed that she thinks in this age of new media it's really great to be able to shut down electronic devices and to just 'be' without constantly being connected.

Speaking to People magazine, the 'Mama's Broken Heart' beauty explained that while she finds it challenging to go for extended periods of time without logging onto her social networking pages or checking her messages, she thinks it's important to recharge without technology:

"I do have trouble putting down [my iPhone], but I'm getting better about it! I think it's important to take a minute and breathe: no TV, no computer, no iPhone, no iPad. You have so many gadgets today and everyone is over-stimulated all the time."

Lambert's forthcoming new album, 'Platinum', is due to be released on June 3 and she recently told Billboard magazine that the title just suits her personality and fits with the things she likes: "I love Airstreams and I love Bud Light Platinum and I love the hair color platinum and I love platinum and diamonds!"
