Morgan Spurlock: 'We need a new One Direction film because they need to win an Oscar'

Director Morgan Spurlock, who worked on One Direction's debut film 'This Is Us', recently confirmed that there will be a follow up movie and has now revealed why it's so important to make another documentary about the lads.

Speaking to Britain's The Mirror newpaper, Spurlock explained that Simon Cowell was disappointed that the heartthrobs didn't get an Oscar nomination for 'Best Song Ever', which featured in the boys' documentary film, so they need to make a new movie for future potential wins at the world famous awards ceremony: "I know Simon Cowell wants the band to get awards for this and was upset when they missed out on being nominated in the music category for an Oscar on our film."

He continued: "It was a good song and I was surprised that they weren't even considered. This time he will want them to try again."

As previously reported, Spurlock said that Ben Winston has been recording footage from One Direction's South American leg of their Where We Are tour: "There will be a follow-up to 'This Is Us'. At this moment Ben Winston is with the band on their world tour filming what happens. He worked with me and is a great producer."
